MyPLAYER Builder help

Plan your NBA 2K27 MyPLAYER, explore attribute requirements, and share your build. Open this guide any time using the question-mark icon beside the builder’s settings menu.

Open MyPLAYER Builder

Getting started

Choose your position, height, weight, and wingspan using the body controls. Your available attribute maximums depend on these choices. Check the build summary and Overall Potential as you make changes.

On desktop, switch between Combined, Attributes, and Cap Breakers. Combined shows ratings and cap-breaker slots together. On mobile, use the Build, Badges, Caps, and Share tabs.

Your current build is remembered in this browser. Saved builds and share links let you open a build again on another device. Undo history and the change log last only for the current builder session.

Editing attributes

  • Type a rating: click or tap the attribute name or number. Enter the rating and apply it. On mobile, tapping a cap-breaker slot changes its selection instead of opening the rating editor.
  • Use the slider or +/− buttons: adjust an attribute directly. The available maximum and remaining upgrade capacity limit how high it can go.
  • Linked changes: raising one attribute can raise others; lowering one can also affect related ratings. The builder highlights affected attributes and records direct and linked changes in the log.
  • Lock an attribute: use its lock control to protect that rating from changes. Unlock it before making an edit or restoring a snapshot that needs to change it.
  • Reset: choose Reset build, then Confirm reset to return ratings to their starting values and clear cap-breaker selections. Choose Keep to cancel.

Overall Potential and the remaining-capacity message help you see how much room is left. If a requirement cannot be reached, the builder shows a message instead of applying an incomplete upgrade.

Cap breakers

Click or tap the cap-breaker slots to select how many to apply to an attribute. Selecting a later slot includes the earlier slots. Click the last selected slot to reduce the selection. Locked slots cannot be selected. You can spend up to 28 cap breakers across the build.

Selected slots fill with the attribute category’s color. The New Cap shows your selected result in green. Without a selection, the muted number previews the attribute’s maximum cap-breaker result. The +number beside New Cap shows the total possible gain from its available cap breakers.

Adjusted ratings displays the selected cap-breaker result as the attribute’s rating. For example, a base Driving Dunk of 63 can display as 90 in green after selecting enough cap breakers. Turn it off to see the original 63. Typing a rating still edits the base attribute.

With Adjusted ratings on, badge, animation, and takeover unlocks use the adjusted ratings. Cap breakers do not grant extra tokens or badge slots. Token hints, token requirements, and slot totals continue to use base ratings.

Hints and quick upgrades

Hints beside each attribute show the next badge unlock, token breakpoint, or animation requirement. An animation hint includes its specific move type; +X more means other animations share that rating requirement.

  • Open requirements: click or tap the hint text to open its full list.
  • Upgrade directly: use the up-arrow button beside the hint to apply the displayed next requirement. Red hints above your build’s maximum do not have an upgrade arrow.
  • Hover previews: pause over a hint to see its preview. Badge and animation previews appear only when their text is cut off. Move away from the hint to dismiss the preview.
  • Choose a requirement: click a badge or animation to apply its required attributes, or click an individual requirement to raise just that attribute and any linked attributes.

In an attribute’s badge dialog, an OR choice follows the attribute you opened. For Mid-Range Shot 80 OR Three-Point Shot 80, opening the dialog from Three-Point Shot makes the badge action target Three-Point Shot. Clicking the Mid-Range Shot requirement explicitly targets Mid-Range Shot instead.

Successful upgrades close the dialog and show what changed in a toast and the change log. If there are not enough attribute points, a red toast appears and the dialog stays open.

Badges, animations, and takeovers

The desktop panels on the right preview unlocked badges, animations, and takeovers. Use View all to explore the lists. Clicking an animation category row, such as Jumpshots or Dunks, opens the animation browser with that category selected.

  • Badges: search by name, filter by category, and switch between unlocked badges and all badges. Locked badges show their Bronze requirements.
  • Animations: search by name or move type, filter by group and type, and sort by category or attribute requirement. More entries load as you scroll.
  • Takeovers: search by name, filter by discipline, and choose unlocked only or all. Click a locked item or an individual unmet requirement to raise attributes.

The animation dialog opened from an attribute hint starts with locked animations for that attribute and your height. It sorts by that attribute’s required rating, then alphabetically. Use its search bar or Show unlocked animations toggle to change the list; scroll down to load more.

Animation height requirements are shown where relevant. Raising ratings cannot unlock an animation outside your build’s height range.

Display settings

Open the three-dot menu beside the help icon. These preferences are remembered on this device and work on desktop and mobile.

  • Adjusted ratings: show selected cap-breaker ratings and their badge, animation, and takeover unlocks. On by default.
  • +/− on hover: keep desktop rating buttons out of the way until you hover or focus the row. Touch controls remain visible without hovering.
  • Badge hints: show the next badge requirement. On by default.
  • Token hints: show the next token requirement. On by default.
  • Animation hints: show the next animation requirement. Off by default.

With all three hints enabled, animations appear below badge and token hints. Hide one of the other hints and animations share the remaining hint’s row. On mobile, cap breakers are shown by default; use their visibility controls to show or hide them.

Builder dialogs follow the site’s light/dark setting: white in light mode and black in dark mode.

Undo, redo, and change log

Use Undo and Redo beside the Attribute change log to step through your changes. A requirement upgrade and its linked changes form one complete snapshot. Making a new edit after Undo replaces the redo path.

The log below Overall Potential shows recent changes, marked You or Linked, with the before-and-after ratings. Changes made for a badge, animation, or token also name the requirement you chose.

Show more opens the full log, with older lines loading as you scroll. Click any line to restore the complete build snapshot from that action, including linked changes and cap-breaker selections. Choose Yes to restore it or No to cancel. You can undo a snapshot restoration.

The log keeps the latest 1,000 lines. The log and undo history are only available during the current session; they do not return after reloading or reopening the builder.

Saving and sharing

Save stores a named build in your account. Log in or create an account to save, and optionally add a description of your playstyle. Use My saved builds to reopen a build. When editing your saved build, choose Save changes or Save a copy. Saved builds are public: anyone with the link can view and copy them.

Share lets you copy a build link or create an image. Choose Combined, Attributes, or Cap Breakers, then select the X (16:9) or Instagram (4:5) format. Download the image, or use device sharing when available.

Share images include selected cap breakers and the Cap Breakers Used total. The share image’s adjusted-ratings toggle is separate from the builder setting: leave it on to display raised ratings in green, or turn it off to show base ratings. Your share view, format, and rating-display preference are remembered on this device.
